Likely Weather |
January is a great time to camp at Cataract. On average the temperature will be around 30° during the day cooling off to 17° at night. This means that it is not too hot to do activities during the day and cool enough to sleep at night. Humidity tends to be lower than on the coast which makes it seem cooler. You do need to bring your raincoat as we can expect to have 2 or 3 days rain during Jamboree.
Like anywhere Cataract can have extremes of weather. Temperatures over 40° have been known in January. This is unusual but is something to plan for.

Weather Statistics
These weather statistics are taken at Camden airport which is close to Cataract. We can expect similar figues during AJ2010. Cataract is probably windier than these figures as it sits higher and more exposed. Quite high winds happen occassionally and this should be allowed for when setting up camp.
