Eligibility To Attend
Applications are due at your Region Office by the 15th of March 2009. Applications received after the 30th of September 2009 will not be accepted.
Scouts
The eligibility criteria for Scouts are:
- Must be in the Scout Section.
- Must be an invested Scout.
- Must have the Pioneer Badge awarded before 30 September, 2009.
- Must have camped under canvas as a Scout, for ten (10) nights, at least three (3) of them to be consecutive. Camping with family, schools, etc will not be considered.
- Must not have attained the age of 15 years on or before 4th January, 2010.
- Must be in the Scout Section for more than 12 months. If less than 12 months an assessment will be conducted by the Regional Commissioner, Scouts or delegate.
NB: Date of entry to the Scout Section recorded on the Branch record will be the Scout Section entry date. Any Scout, who has not attained their 11th birth date will be subject to assessment.
- Must be recommended as suitable to attend by their Scout Leader, Group Leader, Regional Commissioner (Scouts), and approved by the Contingent Leader.
Junior Service Leaders
The eligibility criteria for Junior Service Leaders (Venturers) are:
- Registered members of a Venturer Unit at least 16 years of age on 4th January 2010 & not older than 18 years at the conclusion of the Jamboree.
- Recommended by both Unit Council and Venturer Leader as of excellent character and able to provide a role model to Scouts.
- Achieved the Venturing Skills Award.
- Completed Unit Management Course and the Leadership Course or a minimum of one activity under each Diamond.
- Have a high level of communication skills.
- Have wide experience of Venturer activities.
- Have a thorough knowledge of the Venturer Award Scheme.
- Have a desire to provide service to Scouts.
- Must be recommended as suitable by their Venturer Leader, Group Leader, Regional Commissioner, (Venturer Scouts) and approved by the Contingent Leader.
Rovers
The eligibility criteria for Rovers are:
- Registered members of a Rover Crew at least 18 years of age, but no older than 26 years, at 1st January 2010 will be accepted as Service Leaders.
- Must be recommended as suitable to attend by their RA/Group Leader or next appropriate Level of Commissioner, and approved by the Contingent Leader.
Leaders
The eligibility criteria for Leaders are:
- Must hold a Certificate of Adult Appointment as at 30th September 2009.
- Must be recommended as suitable to attend by their Group Leader or next appropriate Level of Commissioner, and approved by the Contingent Leader.
SCOUT APPLICANTS ARE REMINDED THAT ATTENDANCE AT JAMBOREE IS A PRIVILEGE, NOT A RIGHT, AND THAT BEHAVIOUR STANDARDS WILL BE MONITORED OVER THE PERIOD FROM POINT OF APPLICATION ACCEPTANCE TO FINAL APPLICATION APPROVAL DATE TO ASCERTAIN ATTENDANCE ELIGIBILITY.
